These beautiful gardens are set on a rising landscape at the side of the Helford River. The gardens, mainly full of exotic trees and shrubs are considered to be one of the finest of its kind in the South West. It has pleasing aspects all around, no matter which way you wander there is always something new and dramatic to capture the eye. Of particular attraction is the famous laurel maze of 1833, beautiful mature heathers, rare trees, shrubs and a flurry of wilderness flowers.
From the gardens there are fabulous views over the Helford estuary. There is the Giants Stride to keep children occupied, a tea-room, a shop and plant sales in the reception area.
The gardens are in the hamlet of Glendurgan, close to Mawnan Smith - they are in the care of the National Trust and are open between February and October.
